![]() Reminders and calendar events don’t always work because they don’t make enough noise. Yours on the other hand, works no matter what. And if my alarm is to remind me of something during the day, unless I keep the other app open all day, it won’t work. Yours works even if my phone is silent and I forgot to set, but it has to be for every Thursday, when the alarm I might need is for a meeting or a flight that is 3 weeks or a month away. My other alarm does that, but I have to remember to open it before I go to sleep. Some simple suggestions would be to add options to the alarm like to set it for every other Thursday, or for a specific date. I had to download a separate app for that, and I wish I didn’t have to do that. what I don’t use if for is an alarm because there are not enough features. I use this app for many things, timers, stopwatch etc. I think this app has just been neglected or de-prioritized and is in need of a little TLC by developers or more people are going to stop using it. Either way, after being a lifelong apple clock app user, I am considering deleting it and finding another one. I can’t remember when exactly I started noticing this but I think it may have been after an update. I now have to use multiple alarms, as I can never trust the snooze is going to work. ![]() I know lots of people use calendar reminders for this reason, but why not build in a calendar to make the alarm app more functional?Īnother issue I’ve noticed more recently is, the swipe to snooze is so touchy that more times than not the alarm doesn’t swipe down properly and turns off rather than showing the option to snooze or turn off. For example, when I find out I need to wake up early for a flight 3 Fridays from now, why don’t I have the option to set the alarm for the day I need it to go off? The current option forces you to set it for every Friday. It would also be nice to be able to set an alarm for a particular date rather than just the standard day of the week. It would be cool if there was a way to group alarms for various tasks/activities into folders. I’ve used this app for as long as I can remember and the long list of alarms I set for various reasons gets to be confusing. The band continued on with new bass player Roman Glick and later albums When Moonshine And Dynamite Collide (2010), Best In Show (2012) and Rowyco (2016)were well-received, while Dupree also found wider fame as part of the reality television show Full Throttle Saloon. They entered the Guinness Book of World Records twice when they completed 100 shows in 50 days and 21 gigs in 24 hours, but it would all change in 2000 when Stiff and Bettini left the band and Dupree completed his first solo album. The band’s relentless touring schedule included opening for Kiss, ZZ Top, Aerosmith and Ted Nugent and they teamed up with AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson on the track Locked And Loaded as well as releasing a raucous version of Grandfunk Railroad’s “We’re An American Band”, causing a spike in the sale of Jackyl tickets. Within a year they released their self-titled debut album, which produced the singles “The Lumberjack”, “When Will It Rain” and “Down On Me” and went on to sell over a million copies. Formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1991, frontman Jesse James Dupree, guitarists Jeff Worley and Jimmy Stiff, bass player Tom Bettini and drummer Chris Worley were proud Southern rock & rollers who blazed their way around small venues in the south playing high energy covers, before attracting the attention of Geffen Records. Modeling themselves on the classic rock groups of the ‘70s and ‘80s, Jackyl pumps out loud, stomping bar-room grooves with squealing vocal wails and boundless amounts of swaggering, anarchic confidence. ![]() You’re in for a great night of live music when you get your hands on Jackyl tickets. ![]() When light is diffused, a thin coat of metamaterial around an object can make it essentially invisible under a range of lighting conditions. ![]() This is due to the random scattering of light, such as that which occurs in clouds, fog, milk, frosted glass, etc., combined with the properties of the metamaterial coating. In 2014, scientists demonstrated good cloaking performance in murky water, demonstrating that an object shrouded in fog can disappear completely when appropriately coated with metamaterial. ![]() There are several theories of cloaking, giving rise to different types of invisibility. These spatially varying optical parameters do not correspond to any natural material, but may be implemented using metamaterials. Using transformation optics it is possible to design the optical parameters of a "cloak" so that it guides light around some region, rendering it invisible over a certain band of wavelengths. "Metamaterials" refers to materials that owe their refractive properties to the way they are structured, rather than the substances that compose them. Optical metamaterials have featured in several proposals for invisibility schemes. Alternatively, metamaterials provide the theoretical possibility of making electromagnetic radiation pass freely around the 'cloaked' object. The use of certain devices to jam and confuse remote sensing devices would greatly aid in this process, but is more properly referred to as " active camouflage". Writers and game designers have since incorporated cloaking devices into many other science-fiction narratives, including Doctor Who, Star Wars, and Stargate.Īn operational, non-fictional cloaking device might be an extension of the basic technologies used by stealth aircraft, such as radar-absorbing dark paint, optical camouflage, cooling the outer surface to minimize electromagnetic emissions (usually infrared), or other techniques to minimize other EM emissions, and to minimize particle emissions from the object. Star Trek placed a limit on use of this device: a space vessel cannot fire weapons, employ defensive shields, or operate transporters while cloaked thus it must "decloak" to fire-essentially like a submarine needing to "surface" in order to launch torpedoes. Fontana, coined the term "cloaking device" for the 1968 episode " The Enterprise Incident", which also featured Romulans. (He likewise predicted, in the same episode, that invisibility, "selective bending of light" as described above, would have an enormous power requirement.) Another Star Trek screenwriter, D.C. Star Trek screenwriter Paul Schneider, inspired in part by the 1958 film Run Silent, Run Deep, and in part by The Enemy Below, which had been released in 1957, imagined cloaking as a space-travel analog of a submarine submerging, and employed it in the 1966 Star Trek episode " Balance of Terror", in which he introduced the Romulan species, whose space vessels employ cloaking devices extensively. Since the advent of modern Science fiction, many variations on the theme with proposed basis in reality have been imagined. Cloaks with magical powers of invisibility appear from the earliest days of story-telling. Using a third-party router will waive this fee.
